Geotruckers are a group of Truck drivers, RV'ers
and others driving large vehicles that enjoy geocaching but find it difficult to
find places to park when geocaching. We offer support in finding caches with
ample large vehicle parking, placing caches and maintaining caches for other
members of the group.
Why do we need help placing or maintaining a
cache:
As truck drivers and RV'ers we spend a lot of
time on the road traveling the country. It's not easy to always return to a area
of the country when the freight takes us to other places. With the help of
others who either live in a area or travel the area often, it allows us to place
caches and take part in geocaching as contributors to this sport as well as
hunting caches that other's have placed.
How was Geotrucking.com formed?:
Almost by accident actually. Another member
"Twotruckers" mentioned in the forums on Groundspeak that he would
like to get a group of us together. I mentioned that I would be willing to host
the site for him on my hosting site. The response we got from other's in the
forums was very surprising and exciting. One thing led to another and the site
came to life.
Who should join Geotruckers.com:
Anyone who drives a "size challenged
vehicle" (large truck etc) or anyone who would like to support us in
enjoying geocaching.
What do I have to do to become a member?:
Simply visit our site often, join and contribute
in our forums, and offer help to
other members when you can. There is no formal membership requirements. Just
participation in Geotrucking.com is what it takes to become a member.
Where can I learn more about Geocaching:
The main site for geocaching is Geocaching.com.
They have a wealth of information and provide the main database of caches through
the world. Geocaching University
is also a excellent place to learn about geocaching. More information can be
found on the web about all aspects of geocaching.
